Oakland Athletics thrash Texas Rangers 12-1 – MLB Recap
The Oakland Athletics thrashed the Texas Rangers 12-1 in the first game of four-match regular series encounter on Monday, May 4 at O.co Coliseum in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Rangers’ bad run continues as they received another loss after losing a three match regular series to the Los Angeles Angels just a day ago.
Coming into this game and series, the Rangers somewhat looked confident but could not handle the A’s perfect pitching offence and lost in the end with bitter humiliation.
Rookie Jarrod Parker played exceptionally well for the A’s as he pitched some eight scoreless innings and proved the winning factor for his team.
"We went in with a really good plan and the execution of it was exactly what we wanted to do, It's one of those days. I had good stuff and they were off a little bit. I made a bad pitch and he hit it up the middle and did what he was supposed to do," Parker said in detail about the outing he had and which gave the A’s a good win against the last year’s World Series qualifiers.
Later catcher Kurt Suzuki also said and explained about his team’s combined effort, "We had a good tempo going, In the beginning part he was kind of settling into his own. In the third inning he really settled in and started throwing quality pitches. Against a team like the Rangers, to do that was impressive."
In Monday’s game, the pitching offence was the main difference. Oakland proved to be the balanced side however; the Rangers were too wavered with their pitching prowess.
Scott Feldman gave eight runs in just 1.2 innings which eventually proved no good for the Rangers as they lost with big margin.
In the meanwhile, some experts believe that the way Texas Rangers are playing in the competition is very dangerous for their post season qualification. Though they are quite safe at the moment with 32-23 win loss record along with .582 winning percentage but if they kept losing with big margins, their chance will slowly decreased for their next round’s playing chances.
