Oakland Athletics trounce Colorado Rockies 8-2 – MLB Recap
The Oakland Athletics trounced the Colorado Rockies 8-2 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Thursday, June 14 at Coors Field in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
The Athletics virtually outplayed the Rockies in entire three games of the series and took the series 3-0.
Coming onto this particular game’s result, the A’s offence once again proved their game and took the game in style.
Jarrod Parker pitched perfectly and never allowed any run in his seven innings. He received only three hits and maintained his 2.82 ERA with superb consistence.
“He's got some grit and determination to him, It's difficult to sit here and watch balls fly all around this park like it's a pinball machine and then go out there and throw seven innings with three hits and no runs. When he's pitching well, everybody is in between. Just a little bit behind the fastball and ahead of the changeup," A's manager Bob Melvin said of Parker whose pitching certainly outclassed the Rockies with bitter humiliation.
On the other hand, the Rockies starter Alex White despite playing well in the game could not save the game for his team. He pitched some four innings’ spell and gave four runs and two earned runs.
"We've got to do something different, We've got to find a way to win a game here and there, get on a streak because this is tough to watch, tough to be a part of, and we're all sick of it." Alex White said after the game with slight disappointment.
Not only the pitchers, the A’s batting offence also played well for their team. Especially right fielder Josh Reddick on his five at bats made two runs and smashed three hits and one important RBI.
First baseman Brandon Moss also was one of the key factors in the A’s win as he also made two runs on his three hits along with three RBIs.
Catcher Kurt Suzuki on the other hand, continued his tremendous run into the season as he made two runs and three RBIs in his team’s series decisive game.
