Oakland Athletics’ two talented players unable to tour Japan – MLB News
The Oakland Athletics’ two talented players Joey Devine and Daric Barton will not be touring Japan due to their injury recovery issues. The team management has announced and told the media about both payers’ non availability in the upcoming tour of Japan.
Divine, who is recovering from biceps’ flexor-tendon and Barton is still battling with right shoulder’s surgery and its after affects. Both professionals are very talented and know how to gain benefit from these kinds of little foreign tours.
Recently Devine has spoken to the media and explained the situation and also highlighted his persistent injury issues. He said, "I worked so hard this offseason to be ready, and it's been a tough road, Part of me feels like I let the team down. But I know I'll be ready to go when they come back. It stinks not to go - baseball over there is incredible. But I want to be ready for the full year and not rush.”
Barton is also disappointed and worried about his future as well. "In the long run, this will be the best for me, to play seven days in a row here, get a lot of extra at-bats, playing in the field," he said. "I'll be ready for the Bay Bridge Series."
The A’s management on the other hand, is optimistic and telling the media about both players’ potential return in the upcoming season. On contrary to both professionals’ return, the Athletics’ are practicing hard in this year’s Spring Training in Arizona. Their performance so far is mixed with some good practices.
The batting line-up knows how crucial their form is for the Athletics in the coming season. From past two years, the Athletics pitching rotation is by far not performing and that automatically puts the batters in more offensive mode.
However, this year, the A’s coaching-staff has given extra responsibility to their hitters and the level of confidence they need to perform like champions. If this late strategy worked out for the Athletics, the end results will certainly give them some surprising results. The Major League experts are also speculating in the media that the coming season will prove extra beneficial for the A’s as they are working hard to stay consistent on their offensive game plan.
