Oakland Raiders’ linebacker Aaron Curry hoping for quick recovery after stem-cell therapy – NFL News
Oakland Raiders linebacker Aaron Curry has high hopes of getting back on the field after having a stem-cell therapy to ease his pain.
Curry injured both of his knees and did not take the required medication as he did not realise the seriousness of his injury.
Curry has been put on active/physically unable to perform (PUP) list at the moment.
He is very happy with his recovery, particularly after having the stem-cell therapy in the offseason. Talking to CSNBayArena on Saturday, August 04, 2012, Curry said:
“It's the only thing that's helping me recover. Without it, I'd be a lost cause. For sure."
Curry has received therapy on both of his knees. During the therapy, bone marrow obtained from his hips was used.
Curry has been doing quite a lot of rehabilitation drills on the sidelines to get himself back. He said:
"My goal is to get healthy and just go out there and be violent, be fast, be a pain in the offense's butt and whatever I have to do on the defence, do it. And do it full speed. I can't do that until my body says it's ready."
He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks as a fourth overall pick in the first round of the 2009 draft. He was anticipated as a great prospect coming at the linebacker position after many years.
Many of Raiders’ players have also previously used this therapy to rehabilitate their injury. Curry said of his present status:
“I'm just being patient. I'm taking care of my responsibility, and my responsibility right now is to get healthy, and once I get healthy I'll be ready to rip. I'm able to run.”
Raiders will be hoping for Curry’s quick return as they do not have much depth at the linebacker position.
Curry has been playing the role of player-coach in training camp for players while he is sidelined with the injury.
He is ready to help young players and accept their questions any time and try to answer them.
