Oakland Raiders may get injured players back – NFL News
Finally the Oakland Raiders who have had a hectic time in the past couple of weeks have some good news and that is the possible return of a couple of players to the team.
Two injured key players may make it to the game this Sunday in which the Raiders are faced with a must win situation if they desire to reach the playoffs. Safety Michael Huff and receiver Jacoby Ford participated in practice after
a long time.
Ford practiced for the first time after he had sustained a foot sprain in his left leg back in early November. Ford was seen limited in practice on Wednesday and this was the first such start that he has had in over a month. The
Raiders wide receiver has caught 17 passes for 260 yards this season with one touchdown to his credit. He was injured while playing at San Diego Chargers on Nov. 10.
Raiders coach Hue Jackson was happy to see him in the practice session.
"It was a good start for him. He had a chance to do some things today, move around. I think that's a start. We'll just keep going through the week and see where he is tomorrow and keep going forward." Jackson said.
Ford didn’t have a happy season this year. He had to miss games due to injuries early on in the season. This foot sprain is the third injury he has had to face this season. Before this a hamstring injury and later a foot injury
made him miss a few games, thus allowing him to play just seven games this season.
The second injured player to make it to the practice was Huff. Huff had missed two games due to a hamstring injury.
The Raiders have strong chance of making it to the playoffs if they beat the Chargers this Sunday. They can do it either by topping the AFC West or with a wild-card. To top the division they would need the Kansas City Chiefs beat
the Denver Broncos and to attain the wild-card, they would need the Baltimore Ravens to beat the Cincinnati and have either the Houston Texans beat the Tennessee or the Miami Dolphins beat the New York jets.
The Raiders are already missing their key running back Darren McFadden who had sustained a foot sprain back in October. The Raiders defence declined in ranking ever since McFadden has been out of the team.
