Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor disappointed with his performance in preseason– NFL News
Quarterback Terrelle Pryor seems to be the first in line to criticise his performance in the Oakland Raiders’ preseason game against Dallas Cowboys.
Cowboys won that game 3-0. Talking about his miserable day on the field, Pryor told CSN Bay Area:
"I'm angry at myself. I don't think I played well. I thought Matt played great. I thought Carson played great. I thought everyone else on the team played great. I just think I played like dog c**p. So I'm angry and I'm going to come back stronger next week."
Pryor seems to be speaking truth indeed. He was able to get eight of 15 passes for 50 yards in the game and was able to get a diminishing quarterback rating of 32.6. He was also sacked twice and threw one interception.
Head Coach Dennis Allen did have some soothing remarks for Pryor, who played his first game since January, 2011 when he played astoundingly for Ohio State Star against Arkansas in the Sugar Bowl. Allen said:
"I was pleased he was able to get out there and get some reps and get some experience. Obviously, we have to do a little better job getting in and out of the huddle, and getting the play snapped a little bit sooner, but those are all things that can be corrected.”
Pryor, 23, showed lack of decisiveness on the field. This is very disappointing for him considering the fact that he came on the field after practising for more than a year.
Pryor was drafted by Raiders in the third round of the 2011 supplemental draft. He was the last draft choice of Al Davis’ time as the owner of the franchise. Pryor will have to prove that he is capable enough to earn a spot on the roster.
Pryor will compete with Matt Leinart for the no. 2 quarterback spot on the roster. He will get a chance to prove that on Friday as Raiders play Arizona Cardinals.
