Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor hopes to get better by working with the best – NFL News
Although the third-tier quarterback of Oakland Raiders Terrelle Pryor did not have a very good start to the preseason proceedings, he is very hopeful of making a comeback with little help from his fellow quarterbacks.
Pryor was at the forefront of criticism after the Raiders lost to Dallas Cowboys in their first preseason game. He looked very upset about his performance and called it a “dog c**p”. Looking at Pryor’s performance in that game, many believed that it would be very hard for him to take himself up to the standard of a quarterback capable of playing in the National Football League (NFL).
After the diminishing performance against Cowboys, Pryor was given a limited time on the field in the game against Arizona Cardinals.
Pryor is confident that after getting a full offseason to practise with the team, he will be able to rectify the mistakes he made in his first season in the league. Talking to The Oakland Tribune, Pryor said:
"The suspension really screwed me. The way I came out of college and my mistakes screwed me. But right now, I'm in a good place because I'm learning from the best and I'm only going to get better, a lot better. If I can just keep on figuring out this progression thing and having my internal clock running with my feet, I can be good. I can be great."
One year ago, Pryor was drafted by Raiders in the supplemental draft as a project quarterback, but he got to bad start after getting a five-game suspension at the start of the 2011 season for the violation of NFL’s eligibility rule.
Pryor also did not have the opportunity of training with the team before the start of the rookie season because of the lockout. This certainly made it difficult for him to adjust into the system.
Pryor’ work ethics have been praised by his head coach Dennis Allen, but he must elevate his game this season in order to stand any chance of becoming a projected starter for Raiders.
The quarterback is working very hard with his fellow quarterbacks Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart.
