Oasis Cancun or Great Parnassus Resort for Honeymoon?

I have read mixed reviews on both resorts in Cancun. My husband and I are finally taking our honeymoon after 5 months since our wedding. We found some decent deals for all inclusives for the end of November. Because neither of us has ever been to Cancun we are having a hard time making a choice. We would like a place that will be good appropiate for a honeymoon, yet with some nightly entertainment and perhaps bars outside the premises (not too far from hotel).. Oasis is closer to downtown while Great Parnassus is about 40min.

dont stay at the oasis stay 30 miles south at playa del carmon

much nicer area and try to stay at any Iberostar hotel they are real nice,, at nite  or day u can shop at 5th avenue its closed off just for shoppers , looks super cool at nite,, and you can take a ferry for like $5 to cozumel they go back and forth every hr,, ive been to oasis ,, it doesnt even compare to an iberostar,, foods great and lots of entertainment at nite

Here is what my Bride and I did for our honeymoon in Cancun.  This was our first trip. Now we've made 5 trips and really enjoy the island of Cozumel a lot more.

I'll give you the information on our honeymoon and our return trips.

For our honeymoon we spent the first two nights at Chichen Itza, the Mayan Ruins located in the Rain Forest on the Yucatan east of Cancun via the toll road. We rented a car in advance and once at the Airport we drove to Mayaland The drive will take you about three hours. The Resort is right at the ruins with its own entrance. We enjoyed our stay at the ruins with a real plus being the self guided tours and the night show. If you stay at Mayaland Resort your access to the ruins is free plus you beat the bus traffic. The night show explains all the Mayan History and construction of  El Castillo. One of the most impressive sites at the resort is the front entrance arch. From the arch you see the Observatory (El Caracol) at Chichen Itza. On our last day we checked out and continued our tour along local roads to Coba. This is another set of Mayan Ruins.

The remainder of our honeymoon was spent near Playa del Carmen at the COPACABANA Resort with our final three days in Cancun. We did not care for the Cancun area. Very crowded.

Our best vacation trips have been to the island of Cozumel. This island is very layedback, Oh you can party and have a great time, however, you can relax and enjoy your time together. We like the Park Royal Resort. The All-inclusive and service is next to perfact.

To save some cash. what you need to do is once you pass through customs at the Cancun Airport, you can take the Playa del Carmen bus, this is a very good coach, to Playa del Carmen. Once you arrive at the bus terminal you walk the three blocks to the Cozumel Ferry. THe Ferry runs every hour between 5am and 11PM daily. Once you are on Coz take a cab to your hotel and relax. Make sure you plan your trip around the travel times. The bus to Playa will take a little over an hour. The Ferry ride is 30 to 40 minutes. Once on Coz you will have to take a taxi to your hotel this will take you between 15 and 30 minutes. If you would likw contacts or more information feel free to eamil me at Big Kat.

I would say stay away from Oasis Cancun. I went there in May of 2006 and it was a lot of young people, from teens to mid-20's, just loud and all that. It was a long wait to get drinks. The first thing I saw when I entered our room was a humongous dead cockroach over by the window. I wouldn't go there again! I'd try the Great Parnassus. Although I was in my mid-20's too and with my fiance, I didn't enjoy the hotel. Cancun was awesome, though!

cancun is absolutely beautiful, if it rains it is only for a few minutes to an hour, so it is beautiful year-round. I definitely recommend. I stayed at the Gran Costa Caribe, and it was a phenominal experience, right on the shore of the blue ocean.

Oasis is a cool resort. I haven't been to Great p----. Oasis has a huge pool which is why I chose it. Lots of restaurants and it was safe. have fun!

The Great Parnassus Resort is located in the hotel zone. Plenty of action and clubs.  Downtown has clubs but not like the hotel zone.

Check out the Golden Parnassus Resort and Spa. It's nicer for a honeymoon and it's adults only. It's all-inclusive and it's even closer to the clubs. Cancun hotel zone is shaped like a 7. The Golden is located where all the good shopping and clubs are. The Great is closer to the bottom of the long part of the 7.

At the Great you will find couples and families.

Read the reviews on tripadvisor.com and see if The Golden isn't a better fit for your long awaited honeymoon.

Oh, to get around, use the bus system, it's only 65 cents.

Bring dollars for tips and riding the bus. They very seldom have change on the bus.
