Should there be language that the President will abide by the Constitution? Should there be language requiring the President to keep his campaign promises? Anything else that might be included or changed??

  1. "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

strange that Bush hasn't bothered upholding the constitution?

Perhaps they should include the phrase "under penalty of death" so it reads more like this.

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will under penalty of death, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

That might light a fire under the *** of the Neocon scumbags who want to hold office and feel they can do anything they like.

  2. There should certainly be a clampdown on his powers as "commander-in-chief". It is ridiculous that this one man can wear two hats.

As "commander-in-chief" he has more power than he has as "president".
