  1. Oats is like uncooked and oatmeal it's any meal with oats included.

  2. Oats and oatmeal is the same thing......the only difference is that when u add milk with oats they become oatmeal  :)

  3. Al M has it right   so do the others  The oat grain has a tough covering when it is "rolled" between heavy steel rollers the tough cover breaks into little pieces and is blown away the oat is left in a flatened form

Dried and toasted it becomes the oatmeal in a canister.  Boiled with water or water and milk it become oatmeal.  I like oatmeal but rarely fix it.  The oats that you add to your shake have been processed more than the oatmeal flakes so they do not need to be boiled.  Enjoy!

  4. Yes thats right, oats are on there own dry, oatmeal is like if you add milk.

  5. Or in UK Porridge when milk added to oats.

  6. Strictly speaking, the oat plant is the species of grain from which seeds, known as oats, are harvested.

Oatmeal is the product of grinding oats in a process similar to that used to make flour from wheat grains. However, in North America oatmeal is also the term used for rolled oats.

Rolled oats are oats that have been flattened into flakes rather than ground like flour

There, that's not confusing at all, is it?
