Oats or crackers?

can you add crackers instead of oats in horses treats? i dont dry oats... so can i use crushed crackers instead??? is this okay for horses the recipe also has flour, carrots, salt, sugar vegetable oil, water, and molasses. helllpppp

  1. Crackers should be fine.  I've fed plain crackers to horses before and they like them.  Another option is a healthy cereal.


  2. it should be fine to add crackers instead... they might like the salty taste.  :]    I would use Corn Oil instead of Vegetable Oil if I were you.

  3. I add crackers to my horses feed sometimes. But apparently according to my vet you shouldn't give them too much as it could trigger colic :(

  4. There shouldn't be anything wrong with it o_O. I've done it before, and if your horses like it I'd just keep doing it, personally. A couple of my horses love bread and crackers so they get it as just a treat. So sure, continue it.

    As long as you give me your recipe XD.
