Birmingham City on loan striker Obafemi Martins is looking forward to playing in the League Cup final at Wembley.
He has vowed to keep celebrating in his trademark style as soon as he finds the back of the net for his side.
Martins’ somersaults became his trademark during his first spell in the Premier League with Newcastle United. The striker is known for his athletic goal celebration in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 and is hoping to do the same once he scores in a Birmingham City shirt.
“I'm still going to do the somersaults. In fact, I think I will do them more. If I score goals, I'll do it. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nigeria-c2970 International.
Birmingham snapped up the 26-year-old forward on loan from Rubin Kazan and the player confessed that he was not able to celebrate like he did in England owing to the harsh weather conditions in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991. However, with the forward now back in England, he aims
to bring the same athleticism he managed with the Magpies.
“I had to be careful about doing that in Russia. The weather was too cold! If I score in the Carling Cup final. I think I'll try and do 10 somersaults, maybe more than that!,” stated the 26-year-old.
The Nigerian made his debut for Birmingham recently against Stoke City and shared a good chemistry with strike partner Nikola Zigic. Although he did not get many chances to find the back of the net, yet he looked keen to help the Midlands club achieve their
cause.
The striker is now all set to face his former employers Newcastle United on Tuesday and was glad to be back in the Premier league.
Martins stated that playing in England also gave him a chance to reunite with his immediate family, since his girlfriend and son did not travel with him to Russia.
He also said that he had to wait for some time before he was given visa clearance from the UK Embassy. He said that he was expecting to get it soon but the system had changed since his departure.
Martins managed to scored 28 times in his 88 appearances for Newcastle United in the Premier League and found the back of the net 35 times in 104 appearances for the Magpies.
