Question:

Obama's corporation punishment - Who pays?

If Obama intends to place a tax on the "terrible" corporations that make money, i.e. oil, pharmaceuticals, etc does he also think those same corporations will absorb it without passing it on to us the consumer? Does this seem to be a merry go round that still won't provide relief to the American people but is instead a smart political ploy to get elected, i.e. look out for the David and beat up the Goliath?

  1. When the corporations pay so do the consumers and employable people...

those taxes that Obama wants to impose will be put right on to the wholesale value of services and merchendise...

Also when things are more expensive because of this then people will stop buying and companies will either close down (thus cutting jobs from the economy) or move to another country so they can make their products more affordable (thus cutting jobs from the local economy)

  2. Economist also think  corporations will absorb a profits tax without passing it on to us the consumer, So do Republicans when they call taxing the income of stockholders from dividends and capital gains,  which come  from the profits of corporations, double taxation.  Not even McCain is claiming the his proposal to lower tax rate on corporations will lower consumer prices.
