Interesting all the making fun of Palin's daughter considering Obama's mom was a teen mom too. Maybe because she shipped him off to be raised by someone else, that makes it ok....

If you insult Palin and her daughter, you are really insulting Obama and his mother too....

You won't see Obama even mention Palin's daughter. I think that's guaranteed. But.. while I don't think this is an issue at all, there is something different here(compared to Obama's mother). That Palin is so pro "family values" in the conservative sense. So its a little hypocritical in that she didn't keep her own backyard in the same order she preaches America should be in.

But this is barely even a story. I bet it has no legs whatsoever.

Of course they are really insulting Obama and his mother as well as the other 24% of teenage, unwed pregnancies, but they rarely look at the big picture. How they can go after a 17 year old so vehemently when she didn't asked to be thrust onto the national public stage is just another indication of how hateful they are. Imagine the outrage if we said anything disparaging toward one of the Obama girls? I mean, look at the outrage in our condemnations of Obama's associations with Wright, Resko, and Ayers?

You know what? Edwards ran as "Mr. Family Man," too. I suppose these people are not parents since they fail to realize that one can raise a child but a child is it's own person and occasionally makes it's own mistake regardless of what we teach them.

Obama wouldn't dare criticize this girl. He knows that it would be his downfall and might point out his origins.

Sarah has a point. You don't think his higher up were giddy with happiness over the hurricane hitting New Orleans again so it would disrupt the RNC without getting his approval, do you? We have to remember how these things work. Obama is NOT squeaky clean.

Obama only met his father once.  If he's critical of a society where teenagers have children without ever serving as parents, its not because he's making fun of anyone.  Palin chose to have all her children- and not because abortion wasn't an "acceptable" option in society.  When her last child was diagnosed with Down's Syndrome in vitro, she still chose to have him, to raise him, and to never have any regrets.  Obama, as a pro-choice candidate, supports her still-constitutional right to have an abortion, even if (as a father) he's horrified at the idea of killing unborn children.

Palin is a person without a record, a brain or a soul.  She's a perfect choice of Big Oil to replace McCain when he drops dead.  She's somebody Big Oil can manipulate - just like it presently owns Li'l Bush.

So....you probably saw one person making fun of a 17-yr-old, and now that translated to all Obama supporters?  

Please people, let's use some common sense.  This is the internet, and people are going to exploit that anonymity to say anything, whether it's because they're jerks or they just want to get a rise out of you (which seems to have worked).  Remember, you don't know if the person on the other side of that avatar is a Harvard professor or some 13-yr-old kid in a juvenile delinquent facility.  Anything is possible, so try not to take things so seriously and try not to translate it to a larger group when it is in reality an isolated difference.  When the Dems or the Repubs elect a spokesperson, they are put on Face the Nation, not Yahoo Answers.

EDIT:  I can see from your responses to everyone your level of maturity and your level of reasoning skills.  I apologize for giving you a sensible, non-partisan answer.  I'll take my rationality elsewhere.

BTW, Obama already came out and said her daughter (and all her kids) are off-limits.

No.  I think he would not even mention the issue in public.  Sen. Obama being raised by a single,young mother would actually sympathize with Gov. Palin's family.  To say that Sen. Obama would make fun of Gov. Palin's daughter is reflective of someone who really not paying attention to who he really is as man and a leader.  Plus I think he wouldn't tolerate anyone around him to make fun of Palin's daughter.  He's smart enough to know he can't win by taking cheap shots at the opponent's family.

Obama was trying to run a pretty clean campaign focusing on issues.  It was pretty well orchestrated, maybe a little too well for a political novice to have done by himself.  But it was proceeding in a nice orderly and well planned fashion towards the conclusion he was seeking.

McCain followed an old stratagem.  When things are orderly and not going your way, unleash chaos.  He surely has done that.

This election is going to be a wild one. It's anybody's game now.
