Obama's proposed middle class entitlements?

This is B Obama;'s dream. He gets the spotlight on the Republican party. He doesn't have to answer the questions surrounding all his give aways he proposed. He plans on paying for all of these freebies with a tax increase on the top 5%, but gives the other 95% a tax cut? He raises taxes and closes the loop holes on corporations. He will end the Iraq war ,the money for that is adding to the deficit , so if you don't eliminate that the deficit will just keep ballooning.

The question is,where will he get the money to truly pay for all of his proposed give aways?

Sorry to distract all of you from the Palin story, but I thought we could talk about issues for awhile.

  1. He can get the money from firing all the Generals Bush promoted and thus save America millions.

  2. Thanks...I think we needed a breather from Palin.

I believe that Obama does not want to continue giving the oil companies taxpayer monies like the current administration and  McCain will continue.  The war in Iraq has siphoned quite a bit of money also that could be put to better us.  I remember early in the debates that Hillary specifically states that by automating all the media records, we could see a huge saving there.  And she did say she would rollback the taxes to the last administration where the wealthy would pay more.

Bill Clinton paid down a huge deficit left the the fiscally responsible republicans and left a surplus.  But Bush II squandered that with tax rebates to the wealthy.  Bottom-line, if we are to ever pay down the deficit....it will be with Obama.  McCain just promises to take us down the same road as Bush with the same old failed policies.

  3. This Georgia Girl is in love with McCain. I have supported McCain from the get go and our President Bush. I know he will keep our country safe. McCain will follow out Bush’s goals. Watch the Republican National Convention tonight? McCain is a war hero he knows what to do for our countries safety. McCain 2008!

  4. Simple, by overtaxing the people who actually work for their money. Thank the lord somebody else realizes obama's key flaw. My dad owns a small business and if obama is elected he'll be taxed to death.  How does he expect to "revolutionize" the world when he doesn't support progress. Yes, people who invent revolutionary technology make more money than someone flipping burgers.  Why do people who work hard have to support the people who are living off the system?  I like obama and he has a great message to send to people, but in some ways, he's just going to send us backwards. Or, to better put it, America will stay the same while other countries move forward.

  5. He supports income redistribution.

He follows in his father’s footsteps of the collectivist.

He thinks he is Robin Hood.

  6. What Freebies?  I believe you have no idea what your talking about.

  7. The problem is that Obama just wants to expand the foreign aid to Africa, and give health care to the lazy and drug addicted.

The fact is that with all of his expansions of spending, he would mostly be expanding government, not helping anyone (except in Africa).

And the idea that he would only be taxing the wealthy is a joke.  He would almost double the tax rate on capital gains...this tax hits 97% of those who currently pay federal income tax.

Even if he did not directly tax the rest, taxing corporations and oil companies would send prices out of control and be a secondary tax on everyone.

Hands...I will only address a few key errors in your answer.

    1.  Of those 7 million seniors who make less than $50K/year, about 2/3 of them pay no taxes anyway due to write offs....AND THAT IS A CONSERVATIVE NUMBER.

    2.  Many of the other taxes you are referring to will cause a rapid sell off of investments and send them overseas.  I know,  I have gone to cash on a lot of my investments and so have many of my friends for that very reason.  If Obama gets elected, many of us will pay the current capital gains taxes and our investments will be headed overseas.  You can think that we do not want to pay our fair share, but there is NO WAY that Obama's taxes are fair in any way.  The "death tax" is one of the most ridiculously high taxes there are, and he supports that because he is a crook.

    3.  If 10% of those who have any substantial investment take our money overseas, you will see a DECREASE in revenues over the next 10 years...and at those tax rates, you can count on more than 10% heading out.

    4.  By the way, Obama's proposed spending increases are MORE than the $700 Billion that you are dreaming he could pull in.  So much for the PAYGO system.

    5.  Jimmy Carter tried these kind of fiscal plans.  He brought us the worst economy since the great depression...and Obama's plans are worse.

Pickle...the fact that we CAN and HAVE used nuclear weapons has been a great deterrant.  Take that away, and you can guarantee attacks.  The idea of peace through strength works a h**l of a lot better than sticking your head in the sand.

  8. Most or what Obama promises is not within the President's authority.  The president can withdraw forces from Iraq, but Obama voted as a senator to fund military operations there, which prolonged our departure.

  9. Sounds like "fuzzy math" to me

  10. Obama has said that he will DISARM the U.S. of nuclear weapons, but then he wants to maybe start a NEW war with Pakistan to look for Bin Laden. Pakistan has nukes...talk about taking a knife to a gunfight!! Obama is an idiot!!

Obama also voted to increase the amount of money that the U.S. taxpayers give to the United Nations for handouts to poor countries. It is a MASSIVE increase and will require that the average U.S. taxpayer pay about $600 a year MORE to the U.N.

What about funding for OUR healthcare? He thinks we should PAY for it, mandatory for kids and fines if the parents don't buy it.

  11. For years people have been duped into believing these tax cuts help- look what this economy is like now after the Bush tax cuts. The price of gas has eaten any savings there might have been. Not to mention the price of food and everything else. Plus with these tax cuts- what you never hear them talk about is what services will be cut because of them. How people will be thrown out into the street, what kind of child care or lack thereof there will be. The list goes on and on. Too many people pick one issue and make their choice for president based on only that one issue, i.e. abortion, or g*y marriage. The Tax cuts issue appeals to people's greed- the "what's in it for me" mentality of all those same people who wave the flag and talk about patriotism and god. At least Obama has a platform to deal with a wide array of critical issues. McCain's platform is Iraq, Iraq and Iraq. And by the way have you noticed how many times McCain falls back onto his days of being a war captive in Viet Nam? Over and over and over. Enough!!!

  12. I know his tax increases will affect me.  Which is why I will not be voting for Obama.

  13. none of his prooposed programs are feasible. he didnt need Biden, he needs Rumplestiltskin.

  14. Well Bush manages to find 1.8 billion dollars a week to spend on the war on Iraq .. I don't think he will have any problems ...

Edit: Sunflower - Pakistanis nuclear weapons cannot reach the us ... and do you honestly think we will use nukes to hunt terrorists?  Think about it ....

Kadmarco - This is already happening ... look at the US dollar compared to the Euro ....

  15. It's unfortunate that this has to be repeated so often and it still doesn't get through to the kool-aid drinking Obamabots.

Obummers socialist programs would bankrupt the system and destroy our economy. It would make the U.S. dollar worthless. People would be lucky to be able to afford a loaf of bread out of their paychecks with Obama, n**i Pelosi, H. Reid and Howard Dean in charge of things.

BTW CORPORATIONS DO NOT PAY TAXES!!!! People pay taxes. Corporations COLLECT taxes for the government. Those tax amounts, along with the cost of collection is passed off to consumers. ECON 101.

There is one more unemployed person out there today because I had to let one employee go due to the last minimum wage increase. Can't train and pay the wage. Not cost effective.

  16. He plans to eliminate the Bush Tax cut which has to be renewed or it goes away.  Eliminating it raises taxes on people making as little as $30,000 a year (hardly rich).  Besides liberal democrats have never worried about where the money comes from to spend it.  The Republicans in office over the past 20 years are not any better at that, but at least they like to keep taxes down.

  17. Obama has proposed a tax plan which includes an $80 billion tax cut for poor and middle-class families and repeal the tax cuts for the richest one percent of taxpayers. His tax plan calls for billions in breaks by nixing income taxes for the 7 million senior citizens making less than $50,000 a year, establishing a universal credit for the 10 million homeowners who do not itemize their deductions -- most of whom make less than $50,000 annually -- and providing 150 million Americans with tax cuts of up to $1,000. Persons making at least $250,000 or more would pay payroll tax on their entire income, as opposed to the first $102,000 and would see their capital gains tax increase from 15% to 20-28%.  Obama spoke out in June 2006 against making recent, temporary estate tax cuts permanent, calling the cuts a "Paris Hilton" tax break for "billionaire heirs and heiresses."Speaking in November 2006 to members of Wake Up Wal-Mart, a union-backed campaign group, Obama said: "You need to pay your workers enough that they can actually not only shop at Wal-Mart, but ultimately send their kids to college and save for retirement." His tax plan would bring in an additional $700 billion in taxes over the next 10 years.

In "The Audacity of Hope and the Blueprint for Change" Obama advocates responding to the "precarious budget situation" by eliminating "tax credits that have outlived their usefulness", closing corporate tax loopholes, and restoring the PAYGO policy that prohibits increases in federal spending without a way to compensate for the lost revenue.
