Obama's views on Abortion?

I just got done doing a research paper on this topic and I was amazed how pro-abortion he is. How can anybody support this? I just don't get it. Even if you are Pro-choice doesn't partial birth abortion and live birth abortion take it a little too far?

Obama is pro full term abortion. That means the killing and suffering of babies that are fully developed in the 9th month of pregnancy. That to me is just disgusting.

Because I don't think the government should control what kind of medical care a woman can receive based on the religious objections of conservatives.

A fertilized egg is not a child. I've seen pro-lifers picket birth control clinics because they feel that hormonal contraception prevents the implantation of a fertilized egg, resulting in the "murder of an unborn child." They are thinking with their emotions, not with an understanding of biology.

The talk of him "supporting partial birth abortion" is incredibly distorted.  Nobody in his right mind supports this barbaric practice.  He voted against a bill restricting these types of abortions because the way the bill was written, there was NO provision for the health and safety of the mother at all.

Edit: Your last quote "you should provide assistance to any infant that was born even if it was the consequence of an induced abortion" means that he would support providing medical care to the baby - in other words, keeping it alive.

Obama is not pro-abortion. He is pro-choice. There is a difference. Get your terms straight. He is also for programs to prevent unwanted pregnancies, which would go a long way toward reducing the abortion rate.
