Obama/McCain and Iraq ?

if one of them were to say "right, that's it.get the troops out" how would that affect their campaign ?

it's an honest question from someone living in the UK.barely anyone here supports this war,it's the service men and women i feel for as they don't have public backing.

would it be a bridge too far for a presidential candidate to advocate a withdrawal ?

  1. I really can't imagine McCain saying that. I mean this is the man who thinks America should "bomb, bomb, bomb Iran".

  2. The best thing to happen would be for the UK to tell the US that enough was enough.  I don't see either candidate rushing to bring our troops home anytime soon.

  3. that's why Biden was chosen. he has a plan for the soft partition of Iraq that will get us out quickly ans safely. As soon as Obama is elected this bill will be passed. The VP is the head of the Senate and sets it's legislative agenda.

  4. We already are getting out. Get your head out of the sand.

  5. Neither one can get out "totally". But we are cutting back the troops.  The UK along with other nations will still be used for NATO. that won't change. NATO will be responsible to make sure IRAN doesn't move in and to help IRAQ control violence. IRAQ seems bad, but honestly the Homicide rate in Detroit or Washington DC or even Memphis, Tenn is worse.
