Since Barack is big on talking to our enemies (PRESIDENT TO PRESIDENT)...and has stated we should show humility towards evil

could the least he do...is admit he was wrong about the surge?

I mean Obama is a humble guy right?

  1. The surge worked thru money given and Al Sadr telling his people to lay down their arms. It wasn't something our government achieved all on their own. I do think Obama has said something about the improvement of the situation.

  2. He will never admit it! Kind of goes hand in hand with his lack of viable experience. Notice that the libs can't even answer the question? They just rant about Bush.

  3. Obama was right about the Iraq War from before the invasion and I would trust his judgment concerning Iraq over that of Bush, McCain and any of the others who are trying to make the surge into some sort of success that overwhelms the actual fact of the disaster that the Iraq War is.

  4. No. Well he wasn't completely wrong.  The violence in Sadar City started to decline prior to any additional troops being deployed there.  This is because months before we started 'paying' many of the Shiite factions to stop attacking American Forces.  This is what is known as the Anbar awakening.

"Across the Euphrates River Valley, known to the military as the southern belts of Baghdad, about 14,000 Shiite and Sunni "concerned citizens" are being paid to man checkpoints and patrol roads in an effort to prevent attacks from violent extremism of either sect.

Largely untrained and armed with weapons they already own, the citizens wear armbands and monitor traffic along the roads, keeping watch to ensure no outsiders or other extremist elements come through to bury roadside bombs. If they fail to keep violence out, they could lose their monthly paycheck. Ultimately, the idea is that they will become members of the Iraq security forces. "

Invading Iraq was a lie by this administration.  Now having US taxpayers pay Shiities and Sunnis not to attack each other and US forces really doesn't make any sense at all.

  5. if he was wrong & he knows he was wrong, then yes, he should admit 2 it. If he never admits he was wrong, people will never know when 2 believe him

  6. Funny, why would any one who is running for President consider himself humble?  You have to have a whole lot of ego to think you can run a country.  The surge was a nice bit of nonsense that made the right bark, lets see what happens when we leave before we go crazy patting ourselves on the back.

By the way, diplomacy is a very well respected means of dealing with enemies, look it up.

Saves at least four thousand lives and a trillion or so dollars that we could have used here.

I sincerely hope that Surge worked, I bought that freedom for those Iraqis,  I don't want them returning it if it doesn't fit.

  7. I don;'t like Obama, but I will be the first to admit that if he were to come out and say the surge worked, I would call him a flip flopper.  just like I called him a flip flopper about changing his position on offshore drilling.

Being a good president and a strong leader isn't about admitting mistakes or keeping an open mind.  It's about doing what YOU think is best and not letting the world know that you F'ed up.  Otherwise you lose all credibility as a leader.  I mean, if Obama was wrong about the surge and offshore drilling before even being sworn into office, what else could he be wrong about?  Catch my drift?

  8. as soon as Bush admits he was wrong and lied about a war we shouldn't be in ...

  9. He has.

  10. As soon as Cons admit the war was wrong and he was right.

  11. Yes he should .The vets who were in iraq have an ad out about Obama and it is not nice.

  12. Oh please let me tell you the how the dog and pony show work. The surge is just a symbolic action to be able to call victory and leave but first you force your adversary to vote on it and use it as political rhetoric. If it worked or not it doesn't take that everything was a sting perpetrated on Americans from the beginning.

  13. there are a lot of of things he has screwed up on, that's what happens when you have a two year old senator with a bunch of present votes under his belt. good luck campign in all 57 states obama
