Obama as president.?

I was watching the news From Detroit today; where Obama made a speech. The news interviews focused on people with the comments about how Obama is an African American, nothing about policy or even the war. If Obama is elected do you think it will be because of his race and the historical significance of it?

I believe that many blacks will vote for Obama based on race and the historical significance and not political views. I also believe during the primaries many of white voters who voted for Clinton voted for her because she's white.

The states with the high population of blacks Clinton got creamed in.

For example, in South Carolina when asked who South Carolina Democrats intended to vote for, white voters (male and female) supported Hillary Clinton; while black voters (male and female) supported Barack Obama.

Now, are Clinton supporters going to turn around and back Obama to get him into office? Who knows. I know some who will vote for him because he is a Dem but I know others who refuse to vote at all because they don't want a black man in office...

I think I got off track of the orig question.... but my answer is yes.   :)

***I don't think it will ever happen (in my lifetime anyways) where everyone will vote based on what they think is right (political views, etc) and not let s*x, race, or religion be a key influence on that decision. People may say that they are not influenced by all that but when it comes right down to it, it's a different story.... As for what if it ends up being the biggest mistake?... I think the biggest mistake is already in office and would like to think it can't get too much worse.   :)  ***

Obama is not "african american"!! Was he born in africa? Is he a naturalized citizen from africa? No. So therefore he is not "african american"(though he is a muslim). Blacks aren't "african american" just because of their skin color!! Furthermore the conflict in Iraq is not a war. It is a counterinsurgency. Barrack Hussein Obama!!!! Helloooooo!!! His name tells you alot. Pres. Bush hung a guy named Hussein.

A lot of people are voting for him just because his skin color. I would not vote for him if he was lighter than milk.

How come i have insurance?  I do not need universal health care as long as i have two legs and two arms. I bet i can still have it with one and one.
