And while I'm at it, on "thank yous," I think it makes sense for me to thank the love of my life, the rock of the Obama family, the closer on the campaign trail; give it up for Michelle Obama.

im not native speaker, so what's that give it up for Michelle Obama... the closer on the campaign trail.. the rock of obama family...anyone?

  1. give it up means applaude.

    give up or show appreciation.

    It's American slang used on stage.

    give up doesn't mean a bad thing.


  2. It means that he wants to sell his wife, it's what we do here in America.  He says "the rock" of the Obama family because he would happily trade his wife for a rock in return.  

    Of course, this rock would have to be reasonably big in size.
