Obama is a candidate because he made a good speech 4 years ago at the Democrat convention, right?

Obama was not known until he stepped onto the stage of the Democrat convention 4 years ago. His speech was GREAT! Remember? I, like everyone else, thought there is the guy the Democrats should be running for President instead of that goofy stiff Gore. So the Democrats said to themselves, "Here is a good looking young black man who can really fire up a crowd. We could win with that. So they threw everyone with any experience overboard to back the guy with flash. You know it and I know it. Obama was not chosen because of his accomplishments. He did not move slowly up the ranks proving his way. He made a good speech and a good appearance, PERIOD. Now that the Republicans are pointing that out, why are the Dem's so mad about it? Surely they know why they picked him? Surely they know all of America knows. Why deny it?

I understand why, and what you are saying. Except I am from the old school, and glad to be. I still believe all men ( meaning we womem too ) are created equal, and may the best man win. Except the popular vote should be the deciding factor. I do not care for the electorial, and I do understand, why it is done that way. Due to some states have more people than others.Except We the People were cheated when it came to Kerry and Bush, and it looks like we knew, and know what we are doing. Look at the mess we are in now.

I guess if that is what you were thinking then your political knowledge would necessitate ignoring the rest of your post.

Four years ago Kerry was the Democratic candidate, not Gore.

I think you will find it takes a little more than one good speech to become a serious presidential candidate.

Over simplified. Coming from Illinois, I'm a bit biased, but he was very well known here before his move to the US Senate. And there isn't some mass conspiracy within the Democratic party. We didn't all get together and say, yeah, Obama is our guy next time around. He got enough support to run a good campaign based on great policies and principles against other great candidates and won the nomination. And if you were right and everyone agreed with you, then there wouldn't be a need for the election. Just like your party, you're out of touch.

He may not have the most experience but he has proven to have a unique vision and a superior leadership qualities.  Charisma can be an extremely important skill when it comes to international diplomacy....something we need not only to promote peace, but to promote a positive world view of America and increase our world purchasing power which will help our economy.  WE CAN'T LIVE IN A BUBBLE AS ISOLATIONISTS AND CONTINUE TO BE A SUCCESSFUL NATION.

Why does McCain Vote against Veterans?

Republicans:

1.Answer every question with lies and deflections.

2.Promise to regulate private lives while they sell the country from under our feet.

3.Ignore any facts that don’t support their views:  the price of gas, the deficits, and the number of home foreclosures, as well as, rising poverty and “outsourcing” America.

4.Ignore that a vote for McCain is approval for 8 more years of pulling money out of the middle class.

5.     Enjoy listening to puppets read one line of rhetoric once a day, stay the course.
