I'm a descendant of European royalty, not that this helps or harms anything about my life in the slightest.

On my mother's side, I'm a distant cousin to Red Skelton, Jim Backus (Thurston Howell, III and Mr. Magoo), and Spanky McFarland (the fat kid on "The Little Rascals").  A direct maternal ancestor, Colonel William Crawford, led several campaigns against the British during the American Revolutionary War and was killed by the Delaware Indians at Sandusky, Ohio.  Also, on my dad's side, I'm a grand niece of Texas Senator Tom Connally, who was chair of the US Senate's Foreign Relations Committee during World War II.

Unverified, of course, Ancestry.com shows that I'm a direct descendant on both sides of the family of Robert the Bruce and James I and II of Scotland through the Earl of Crawford (both my mother and father are distant cousins).  Ancestry.com also indicates that I'm a direct descendant of both Sir Thomas More and Geoffrey Chaucer.
