Obama on the patriot act

does he plan to keep it? Also what u think of that act?

I hope he does not plan to keep the Patriot Act.   It is not something that I can be happy about because it is conflictivein many ways with the US Constitution.  I can't be happy about Bush calling the Constituion a God dmmmmed piece of paper because that is the same document that our soldiers pledge to defend and uphold even if it means their death.     The Patriot Act is too much like Hitler's Enablement Act.   Sometimes in our fear,   we will do things that are not good for us in the long run in order to feel safe.   I think this is one of those times.

That's a great question and somewhat unanswerable.  He just voted in favor of the FISA bill after originally not supporting it.  He has now revised his position on removing oil from the strategic reserve.  Who knows where he stands on anything.  Will the REAL Obama please stand up?

By the way I am all for it.  The Patriot Act has done nothing but help keep our homeland safe.  It's amazing to me how many people think the FBI has the time or inclination to sit around and listen to their phone conversations about last night's booty call.
