  1. Ha...ha...ha...Until they fill in the hole and get the town above sea level they'll continue to have problems. Just another empty promise from a wanna be.

  2. It is VERY easy for Obama to promise "100 year" flood protection for New Orleans. The Bush administration ALREADY got the program both authorized and funded by Congress.

The construction started in 2007 and it should be completed by 2012.

    Dear 2.5karat,

    1.  Most of New Orleans is NOT below sea level and most of the parts that are BSL are only a little below. The city flooded so badly because Katrina's storm surge was MUCH higher than sea level. Every coastal city in the country (possibly in the world) would have been flooded by Katrina - The storm happened to hit New Orleans.

    2.  New Orleans is NOT prone to being struck by hurricanes.  The last one to hit the city before Katrina was in 1965 and before that was in 1947.  Those storms did NOT flood the city-proper. Note that Florida IS hit by hurricanes almost every year, and I don't see you claiming that Miami should be abandoned.

    3.  All of the Katrina flood waters were gone before the end of September, 2005.

    4.  Most of us have NOT "found new homes".  We have been trying to rebuild our city, and attitudes like yours are part of our problem.

Katrina was the strongest storm ever recorded to hit North America and was the worst natural disaster to ever strike the USA.  It killed 1600 people, wrecked an area larger than Great Britain (90,000 square miles), displaced more than 2 million people for months, and made 500,000 of us long-term homeless. Recovery will take years and will not be easy or cheap.

  3. What a power he has?

    In challenging God?

    Remember Hurricane Katherina?

Waited for it at the front door.

    Came through the back door.

Even with the latest and modern technology available in town.

    What do you think?

  4. A "sea wall", a "mega-d**e"....it could be done..but it requires enormous funding!!!!  Even "undersea train railways" is undergoing feasibility studies in various countries.  A third world country like the Philippines did build a "mega-d**e" that was supposed to control mudflows....it crumbled!!!.....now they are proposing an underwater train railway somewhere down south.  Corruption is blatant in the Phillipines but a country like America has great legal fundamentals that will punish erring government officials!!!!

  5. Now that has to be the funniest thing Ive ever heard. and maybe they can program the water to not go over the wall. New Orleans is below sea level to begin with another hurricane next year will wipe out anything they try to build. Also the water hasn't even receded from Catrina and prob never will. besides havent all the residents already found new homes.Would you want to go rebuild a house there and have it gone again next year not me.

  6. sounds a little far-fetched. but he must have something to back this up...

  7. BTW Barry

Yes you are so right with the facts about Katrina and N.O.

You are not forgotten by the Democrats.  It will take time which is no excuse but N.O. will be back and so will the other areas hit by Katrina MS, LA.  Keep the faith.

  8. Like a fish tank?  Won't the people trapped inside object?

  9. Bush-- one of his biggest empty promises -- SWORE on a bible to protect the Constitution.

Proof shows:  What a BUNCH OF BSSSSSSSSSSsssss.

  10. Past your bedtime.  Tomorrow is a new day.

  11. ummmm......(scratching my head)

  12. Did he happen to mention how he was going to finance it, bet not!  Evidently he doesn't know we are out of money & that's just another empty promise!  What is he going to do about Florida, any news about saving them from the devestation they experience almost yearly!
