Obama supporters inform me how a windfall profit tax will lower our gas prices?

I have taiken both macro and micro econmonics in college and this really doesnt make snese to me. If I am wrong, please explain it to me.

Noone believes it will lower gas prices right away...but the government will use this money to invest in alternatives which will lower the demand of gas which will eventually lower the price

I'm not an Obama supporter, but I've seen all of his speeches and press conferences, so i'll try to explain his position.

Windfall profit taxes are the solution, not the problem.  The problem is bad.  The current system is broken.  Gasoline is expensive.  President Bush, Senator McCain, and Hitler are bad.  They all use gasoline.

Do you support gasoline, Hitler, and McCain?

Obama means change.  Change in Washington.  Change in your pockets.
