Question:

Obama supporters: why not McCain?

Well, one of my friends and I, have different views, and she thinks McCain is the best choice, because Obama is going to change the whole country and ruin it, ect. Except my family and I like Obama,

When she says stuff about Obama, I have nothing to fireback about McCain. I just want some specific incidents that happened, or McCain said that I can say to her. Like times he acted like an idiot, or he said something that would worry people.

Thanks in advance!

  1. While I'm not trying to start a big political debate, since there are plenty around, electing Obama isn't going to drastically change the country.  Poverty isn't going to suddenly drop, and the economy isn't going to make a 180 degree turn.  Gas prices also will not fall.  Now, I'm not speaking out against Obama, and not necessarily speaking out for McCain, but Obama isn't going to be the "prodigal son" that so many are thinking he is.

  2. "McCain has a long and storied history of blowing up at his colleagues and the question really needs to be asked whether a man with such an angry temperament and who is prone to an overly hawkish foreign policy should be President".

But the real issues are whether you think government should help people or not.

  3. While I wouldn't vote for McCain, I'm not necessarily voting AGAINST him -- I'm voting FOR Obama and the positive changes he will bring.  Obama IS going to change the whole country, hopefully -- and that's the point.  Things in this country are not so great these days, if your friend hasn't noticed.  McCain will continue the failed policies of the past 8 years.

  4. He doesn't know how many houses he has

He has a temper that causes him to make impulsive decisions

He has voted in favor of 90% of Bush's policies

I'm sure the list goes on, but that's what I can think of right now

  5. You sound like a kid but good on you kid! stand up for what you understand and know; If you know anything about both candidate, then talk about it if not go on-line to find out - am a bit reluctant cos the media sometime always report the bad part instead of leaving the judgment to the readers.  Your friend might just be, as ignorant as her/his family by listening to other peoples opinion about McCain or Obama, don't get into it with her if you think it might end up in either you or your friend getting upset, tell her you don't want to talk politics and move on to better things. Goodluck!

  6. You could look on Move On web site; they have lots of examples.

McCain has thrown outright temper tantrums on a number of occasions -- he can be a real hot-head with NO control, and completely uncivilized when angered. This is NOT a good thing; we need someone capable of keeping their cool.

Another thing that sticks in my mind is when he JOKINGLY sang "Bomb, bomb, bomb; bomb bomb Iran" (to the tune "Barbara Ann" by the Beach Boys).

    Mass murder is NOT funny.

I have NEVER forgiven him for caving on the issue of torture, which he had promised never to do. (Republicans say WE'RE flip-floppers!)

He thinks the economy is hunky-dorey; that we who realize it isn't are a "nation of whiners" (right, no work, no health-care, everything more expensive -- and you're a whiner if you think that's a BAD thing).

He's in the pocket of big oil.

Basically, he out-Bushes Bush. He thinks that the people who have all the money should pay less tax than they do now; he has no problem with the middle class being utterly destroyed; and he thinks war and mass murder are solutions to problems.

He's supported our immoral war against the citizens of Iraq this whole time.

But singing about murdering millions of people, and supporting use of torture and rape -- he is BAD news!
