Obama talks of FREE Health care and FREE Tuition but is it really free?

Who is paying for this free health care and free tuition? Doesn't it come from our taxes which will be raised to pay for all this, so in reality how is it free???????

  2. no you start to see that words are not the same as actions and to answer you you are right it will be paid for with higher taxes just look at what he wants all americans to pay with this Global Poverty Tax bill he is trying to push through

  4. He has never said FREE. Free was Hillary's thing. Obama wants everyone to AFFORD healthcare with insurance being dirt cheap.

    ONLY children will be covered because they have no choice.

  5. America used to have close to free tuition for Americans with the grades when I went to college. It was totally free in California. That was back when America had the highest standard of living in the world. We also were not  in debt at that time. Of course we also did not have to pay for 737* US military bases in other countries. Education is cheap compared to that.

    *737 is how many the US government admitted to have in 2005, it does not count the many bases we do not admit to owning because of political problems that the host countries have with their people.

    I really wish our schools spent more time educating our kids the dangers of socialism/communism in society.  the past has proved it doesn't work, but so many people are lacking in history and politics to really understand why it won't work, no matter how good it sounds.

  8. Most schools (excluding colleges) are supported by real estate taxes.

    College is at least three times more costly than operating public schools.

    What will that add to your tax burden? Especially if the inefficient federal government is handling the issue.

    Then what about Health Care?

    Did you know the government has been examining the cost of health care and has determined that, for most people, almost 95% of their lifetime medical expenses occur during the last year of their lives.

    Would you like to guess what they are considering as a method of keeping the cost of a National Health Care Program under control?

    Try neglect. - Just pay lip-service to plans to handle the complaints.

    Sounds like Canadian health care. Put off the services for two years and the problem takes care of itself.

    Will that be a new and really huge political football we will never hear the end of? Sounds worse than the abortion issue to me.

    Obama's intentions are great - but I wonder HOW he will recover from the situation of how everything is now?   Things are in a mess,  A lot of back-tracking  & recovery seems to be needed - before anyone can go forward in a productive manner.

    I can hardly contain myself until it is known that Obama supported Grant Money to the William Ayers foundation for education.

    Oh, but wait, there is more. He already has told us that William Ayers was just a casual acquaintance. In case you Obamites don't listen to the real news, instead of the media biased MSNBC and NBC, etc., Obama was and is a very good friend of the anti-American William Ayers, who bombed the Pentagon, bombed police stations killing a police officer, then admitting to the crime and getting away with it because of some liberal judge. Where is the justice in that?

  14. Nothing in life is free. If everything he says he's going to do was as easy as he says it is, it would have already been done.

  15. He has never said either, or FREE. He said AFFORDABLE. And he said in order to get these tuition scholarships, the people going for them will have to do some kind of community service or give back some way that they can. This is his plan for healtcare

    Health IT investment, which will reduce unnecessary spending in the system that results from preventable errors and inefficient paper billing systems;

    𐂃 Improving prevention and management of chronic conditions;

    𐂃 Increasing insurance industry competition and reducing underwriting costs and profits, which will reduce insurance overhead;

    𐂃 Providing reinsurance for catastrophic coverage, which will reduce insurance

    premiums; and

    𐂃 Making health insurance universal, which will reduce spending on uncompensated care.

    While taxing these large companies and millionares I'm sure we'll find money somewhere... That's one reason I love Obama, he's goin' after the big guys and givin' back to the little guys

  16. That guy RT is an idiot, we already owe China billions upon billions. The money we borrow from china has funded the war and paid the stimulus tax, when china and russia (whom happen to be allies) form the new axis of evil they will come calling for payment, and guess what Bush and McCain will be long gone. We are stuck with a bill that may bury our country. Now Obama health care is universal and will come at a cost, whats the difference our current health care comes at a cost. and the tuition is based on performance, military (which we currently have) and social projects (volunteer work). It all cost and we will pay regardless, I rather invest in my fellow citizens then some Saudi prince's diamond studded mercedes, or in China ever strenghtening everything.

The Europeans have "free health care"they also pay around 50% in taxes,nothing is free in this life.What I know is the more you let politicians take control of your life and your health care especially you can bet your going to pay lots and its not going to be a good system,just look and ask the Canadians how great their health care is.

No it's not free. has anyone ever been to a college University. the biasness is seeping and for people that are not suppose to sway votes.  Free tution should not happen whatsoever. either should free healthcare.  You can get healthcare if you look and try had enough. Theirs already millions (hyperbole)of program.  Free tution is just iditoic the only reason college cost rise is because colleges have good marketing. and high school teachers scare you to death about being a bum, homeless on the street.  if people actually took a look at what college REALLY cost and WHAT they teach.  it's OVERPRICED.  Taxpayers shouldn't pay.

No he doesn't.  For example, the tuition thing?  He would like to be able to provide $4000 max per person.  (Newsflash:  you'd still have to be paying for a LARGE chunk of your own schooling.)  And it's not free.  You would have to put in mandatory volunteer hours.  Essentially, he wants to create a new federal student-work program where the pay off is money toward tuition and more community-building.

    Obama also consistently supports the dignity of Americans working hard for themselves.  He has not mentioned FREE healthcare.  Rather, he wants everyone who is working to support themselves to be able to afford healthcare without it being outrageous or unreachable.

Look into taxes for the richest 1% and how they are taxed in comparison to the "middle class"...Did you ever think that all the money the government is spending in tax cuts for Corporations who SHIP JOBS OUT of the US, and tax cuts for Exxon Mobile (who  has made record profits) and having just those two things changed....No tax cuts for Big Corps who outsource. Bring jobs back to the US = more WORKING Americans who will be paying into the tax system. No more special interest tax cuts for Corps making record profits...I could go on, but I don't think I would help...You need to ask yourself where this administration has got the money to pay for the war in Iraq and all the Nation building going on. :)
