- Obama is Presidential nominee, Palin is Vice-Presidential nominee.

- Obama is a U.S. senator from Illinois, Palin is governor from Alaska.

- Obama is Harvard educated, Palin went to University of Idaho educated.

- Obama established himself as community organizer (of about 100,000) for seven years before he became a senator. Palin was a major of city of 9,000 in Alaska before she became a governor.

- Obama has run a historic campaign to become 1st black presidential nominee in U.S. history. Palin has the highest governor rating in the country (in the 90's).

Obama most memorable quote, that eventually ignited interest to who he is:

"There is not a Black America and a White America, and Latino America and Asian America, there's the United States of America!" - 2004, DNC

Palin's first quote about being a VP:

"But as for that VP talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day? I’m used to being very productive and working real hard in an administration. We want to make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans and for the things that we’re trying to accomplish up here for the rest of the U.S., before I can even start addressing that question."

2008, Kudlow & Company: Money Politics.

Experience aside, Obama or Palin, who stands out more to you on paper?

  1. You forgot to mention Obama's political mentor Bill Ayres.  He and his wife Bernadine Dorhn.  They of weather under ground fame and declared enemies of the United States.

  2. I want Christ to be in the picture of America. If there is change, there is going to be change with Obama. He has no experience, and it's just going to make our nation's problems worse. For those of you who bomb Palin, she's closer to us than ANY of the three other candidates. Palin has a child who is not perfect (which answers question to abortion), she has a son going to war (answers the Iraq soldier part), plus, she is a woman that knows what goes through a woman's mind before having an abortion (men don't know squat) and finally she has MORE experience than Obama. Obama just jumped from the senate (which he had just started) to running for president. Palin is a very good choice. Even though she may not know what a VP does (which will change), she is going to balance the Republican party by have more experience closer to the people, and McCain knows more about the White house. So I know who I'd vote for.

  3. The way that you state it "on paper" it actually makes me curious as to what a community organizer really does? He organized 100,000 people? to do what? You would think Illinois would really have their c**p together since he organized them so well. Not what I heard. It sounds like the Governor plans on being a lot more productive than say...Cheney has been. Can't really think of a whole lotta things he's done so... think she'll be all right

  4. Twilight, I don't want someone who is "close to me" to be president. Americans are idiots. I want someone elite, the elitist MF out there, someone who will tell stupid people to sit down and shut the h**l up because they are DUMB, not someone who is as dumb as the rest of us.

  5. I would have to go with my party and choose Obama.  Palin being the mayor of a city of 9,000?  Who cares??  You forgot to mention that Obama finished near the top of his class at Harvard.

  6. This isn't "on paper." It's you picking & choosing.

How about mentioning some of Obama's racist quotes?

This is your obviously biased opinion.

    Nice try.

  7. Obama quote..

"I've now been in 57 states -- I think one left to go." --at a campaign event in Beaverton, Oregon

    PALIN QUOTE.

Politics isn't just a game of competing interests and clashing parties. The people of America expect us to seek public office and to serve for the right reasons. And the right reason is to challenge the status quo and to serve the common good.

Now, no one expects us to agree on everything, whether in Juneau or in Washington. But we are expected to govern with integrity, and goodwill, and clear convictions, and a servant's heart.

    From her acceptance speech.

Yes! very different on paper...The choice is clear to me.

  8. Allow me to add more.

She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.6

How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.7

  9. Palin, she has the willingness to stomp out corruption. Her willingness to challenge both parties is her strength.
