It's election season once again, everybody's excited. Candidates, different opinions, views, etc. Sometimes people get a little too zealous over their candidates, so if you put it all aside for today, can you get up and hug or shake your fellow voters hand today regardless of their choice?

  1. I can...

My best friend, a few other good friends, and my brother and sister in-law are voting for McCain.

Just because people debate and discuss doesn't mean they can't shake hands

In the end nothing they say will change my mind.

  2. Yes, as long as I have anti-bacterial gel close at hand.

  3. Sure, what's the big deal, it's only politics.

  4. You know, I was watching a few shows today (Including "The View" - what was I THINKING?) and I was wondering the same thing. It's amazing - I can sit down with people and have a political discussion and never once cut them off, insult them OR their views OR the candidates they are voting for, but instead listen to them and compare it with MY views and opinions. We're all people - we all have different opinions and a nation can certainly never agree 100%. But we should be able to agree to disagree and let the voting decide.

"Too Zealous" is being Too kind.

  5. Sure.  I hate the platform, not the republican.

  6. Of course. None of this is personal. My grandmother will absolutely be voting for McCain, and I don't hold it against her. I take every chance I can get to change her mind, but she's not somehow dirty or infected.

  7. sure thats the thing about dems. we are by the people for the people. we are not imperialists. and we are not traitors and Heirachs to the republic alliance,

  8. I can without a problem.

  9. not knowing its been holding the asses of the religious right before kissing them

  10. Does anyone find it scary to possibly give someone power who can not do this? I can see him disagree with another country and us wind up in a war over it !!!

The man needs a warm bottle, a fresh diaper, and a nap! I do not want to be at war over a childish behavior.  I don't want a child running my country, we already have enough problems. His wife needs the same over her rasism. She will not help anyones race, just herself.

I thought about voting for him, but the more I see of the childish behavior the more dangerous I think he is.

  11. I have spent the day pleading with everyone who would listen to stop the nonsense about Bristol Palin.

    Obama O8

  12. i could do it. h**l id prolly have a beer with them too...

but the question is are they willing to shake my hand back?

why isnt everybody starring this? we need this stuff to remind us that we are all AMERICANS.......not republicans or democrats or whatever else.....just people with different views.

  13. Hmmn! Well lets see, it's been eight years since Bush BEAT gore in the elections that they had tied up in courts, but still say Bush stole the elections. I'd have to say once a sourpuss always a sourpuss.

  14. Yes I can.  I respect everyone's decision to vote for their respected candidate.  However, I don't always like their reasons.  For example, I cannot accept someone basing their decision that is based on lies and/or assumptions.  Or a "gut feeling."  This goes for both Obama and McCain supporters.  I would just like to see rational, logical reasoning when people choose their candidate.  I don't think that is hard to ask for.

  15. My whole family is split on this election and I can't wait until Thanksgiving.

    Blue Collar for McCain/Palin

  16. I shake hands and give out hugs all day long, from 7am to 7pm while working the election polls as an inspector. Most people are much more than their political affiliation and others don't even know whose on the ticket.

  17. No, there's no use pretending.  I'm not a hypocrite, and I know we have irreconcilable differences.  Sorry.

  18. Absolutely. I'll go one further and say that McCain is a great and honorable man and would probably make a good president... but the same is more true for Obama.

  19. Up until this election started I might have,

    but not any more.

The level of fascist extremism displayed by the followers of McCain has been a shock to me.

No, I will not shake hands with any of them and would be happy to see them exterminated if I could.

  20. If I were in America (and therefore voting for Obama), yes.

  21. Yes we can!  The real question is why would we want to knowing that McSamers are holding a knife in their left hand to stab us in the back?

  22. Absolutely!!!

  23. Absolutely!!!

I have a lot of Democrat friends... Infact, some of them are my "Best" friends. Our conversations can get really heated at times, but they know not to push it too far. Because like most republicans, I could kick their sissy butts severerly. *lighten up,it's a joke*

    EDIT:

Ooops, this was an Obama question... Sorry!!!

  24. Just like I dont judge people for being yankees fans(although its a horrible affliction i hope they can someday recover from) I dont judge people by their political choices.. it reflects them slightly but if you focus on small parts you miss out on the bigger picture

btw just kidding yankees fans my mom love them too

  25. I sure can.  I may not agree with who they support but it does not make them any less of a person because they support McCain.  You may never know the nicest people you will meet.  After all, we are just people.  We are not who we elect, we are all human beings that should be respected regardless of who we elect.

  26. Another biased question like your last.

The obligation of making me feel like I owe an apology to republicans is inaccurate, It's the other way around. Do you have a persecution complex?

  27. If I didn't feel that Obama as the more aggressively progressive choice (and I am a member of his campaign), I'd be glad that McCain was the republican choice.  Out of all the republican candidates, I do feel that he was one of the best.  I don't agree with him on taxes, or with his readiness to fight unnecessary wars, but he's more progressive than most republicans.  I wish he knew something about economics personally so that he wouldn't have to take other people's word for it on issues like the Bush tax cuts.  I wish there were a way to have a balanced budget, and I think that the democrats are more likely to make that happen.  If McCain were elected, I'd be sad, but he'd be my president, and I'd respect that.

  28. yes, my best friend and I both have very different views and we're both voting for separate candidates. It can get annoying/frustrating when we talk politics, but I still love her.

  29. Of course I can. Their vote has nothing to do with how I feel about other people.

Why should we put it all aside today? Could it be any day?

Most folks keep politics out of their conversation. It makes for a better friendship.

  30. Regardless of someone's choice, I can get up and shake their hand and wish them best of luck for their candidate.

Everyone has different opinions, and even if their opinions don't match mine it certainly doesn't mean they're wrong.

To the votes: may the best man win!

  31. I could shake a McCainers hand...(if I spit on my hand first...) Just kidding...I don't have a problem with McCainers. They just aren't my cup of Blood...uh I mean tea...I'm just kidding....
