  1. People who have a lot of weight to lose can lose weight faster, especially when they first start to lose weight.  As they approach a more normal weight, the rate of loss will slow down.

    EDIT

Some ideas to help your sister:

If she is a minor she should talk to your parents about losing weight and get them to help her put together a plan.  If she is obese, she should see a doctor as part of her weight loss plan.

Keeping a food journal really does help.  It will give her a much better sense of how much she is eating, and when, and why.

Make a few small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if her work or her life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days.  Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer.

Start a weight lifting routine. It will help increase yher metabolism and make her feel and look better in so many ways. Join a gym. Possibly she can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase her metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall.  Possibly you and she could join a gym together.

In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish.   Particularly if she chooses a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts.  Pay close attention to getting the nutrients her body needs to be healthy.  Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses a day, and more if it is very hot, it she sweats a lot, or if she is exercising intensely. She will begin to see changes in her body.

Check out websites about nutrition, exercise, weight training, etc.  Here are a couple of helpful links.

  2. Hi jesse, I guess so. They loose weight faster. They have to get down with it anyway.

    Regards

  3. Hi there,

I can personally recommend weight loss hypnosis.

I've used the Rapid Weight Loss Binaural hypnosis program and found the weight literally dropped of me! In a month I lost 14 pounds just by listening to this program daily and what was really weird is I stopped craving sugary foods and started to want to eat healthily!

It really freaked me out when I went out for a pizza - I found myself ordering salad instead of a starter and skipping dessert! My friends were most bemused by it.

What I like about hypnosis is the fact that it works on a subconscious level - I've always struggled with weight loss in the past and found I couldn't stay motivated, but this, oddly enough, works!

Hope that helps, but please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help.

  4. I saw this product called Acai Berry on Oprah the other week.. Looked like all the other diet scams, but I went for it and ordered a 14-day free trial from this site.. And guess what, it really works!! I'm so happy I've already lost weight, gotten more energy and my stomach is flatter than ever!

  5. Initially yes, the weight does come off faster for those that are larger. It is harder for lighter people to lose that kind of weight because the weight loss is more significant and more noticeable. Eventually though, they will probably hit a plateau for awhile where they might not lose anything for a few weeks, and thats when its time to revamp your workout regime.
