Object in the night Montana sky?

On August 16th, 17th and 18th I have noticed a bright object in the northern sky. I wasn't able to look for it last night, and it is too cloudy tonight to see. I took notice because it is flashing red and blue and has a constant white light, it almost seems like 3 different light sources. It isn't a plane because it moves way too slow and it has been seen 3 nights in a row in the same spot. It also moves from west to east but very slowly. Slower than a plane but faster than the stars. It isn't a satellite because I have seen it at 10:30pm, far too late for a satellite to still reflect sunlight. My method for measuring is kind of strange, but at 10:30pm holding my hand out at arms length, it is approximately 6 finger widths off the horizon and 8 finger widths east of the north star. I am in north east Montana (Glendive). Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone know what it is?

the chances of a satellite is highly possible,they are getting info on weather,the glaciers and measuring your heat in your soil,btw please be careful even tho you havent experienced an earthquake in a long while you are due for a shift-many hugs

Okay. What makes the moon shine? The sun. This thing is probably a satellite. You just don't understand how high up these satellites can be. Sometimes over 500 miles up. From that high up, the satellite can see you, and the sun, at the same time. That means that it can reflect sunlight down to you. But you should take pictures of it, just to be safe.
