  1. Just a few thoughts...

Think about what you like and least like to do.  Be sure that whatever your Objective contains points others in that direction.  I say this bec when you are in a hurry to get working, you will say almost anything to get the job...don't do that.

Be true to what you like and don't like. Pander to your own strengths while realizing that there will be little opportunity to do any of it in the position you are applying for.  Do they have a better job...yes, so show them you are suited for it.  If it is marketing, mention that.  If it is assisting, mention that.  If it is numbers and accounting, mention that.  Balancing that idea, you must NOT overemphasize those things or you will be viewed as someone who will quickly get bored and leave the job.

  2. :-) Wow... I just got a job as a receptionist at a car dealership. haha. My objective...

To obtain a meaningful and rewarding position as a receptionist that may allow for future advancement.

Just make sure that you mean it if you say it. Many receptionists at car dealerships eventually reach a point in their career where a position in accounting opens up and they are given the option of continuing forward. This is a very good career move and will lead to more income. :-) If you are a student or a part-time person this allows for you to say, 'yeah, maybe i'll work for you when I get out of school in a better area' or 'yeah, i'd probably become a full-time person if the position opens up.' It gives an impression of long-lasting commitment to the position should you get it. I got the impression at my interview that this is what a dealership is looking for, a longer term commitment and someone motivated enough to have a great work ethic because they would like to someday move up the salary ladder in the dealership.

    Best of luck!!!!
