can I improve my tone...?

More air support will always help get a better tone. Use your stomach to help you- it should stick out some what when you breath in to take more air. Make sure you're not biting the reed either. The reed should have a good vibration when you are playing. I hope that helps and good luck!

Breath support is a lot of it, as is the condition of the reed, embouchure shape, etc.  Sit up straight, keep your chin up, and blow through the whole horn not just the reed, and think 'round sound' (or try to feel like a 's**y voice' instead of a duck).
