Obsession for celebraties good or bad?

I often see teens going crazy over celebraties and i was wondering why they do it.

its bad. you know the band gorillaz? thats the message they were trying to send. "reject false icons, respect false icons". that is their phrase. it means that you should respect celebrities or icons, but not to worship or obsess over them as if they were gods. reject false icons.
