Full questions:

I would like to know…

*…What are the factors that led to ‘mankind’s’ current obsession with ‘unlimited freedom and unlimited freedom of expression without consequence (punishment etc.)’?

*…And why do so many people on the Internet espouse this ‘unlimited freedom’ – when it is a fact that not all the world is ‘free’ (democratic; liberal etc.)?

[Background:

I do not come from a ‘democratic’ background (reference to geographical, cultural, political and age factors)…]

Thanks.

  1. People don't realise that if their was unlimited freedom the whole world would be in utter ciaos.

  2. Man or Women, naturally move towards somewhere that is

free. Everyone should have the right to speak, with out being

jailed. We the rest of the world want freedom for all. I wish I

could reach out to you and hug you. And show you what you have a right too. FREEDOM. May you enjoy it some day.

  3. Simple:  Today's population is defiant and is used to getting what they want.  They don't want any boundaries or any rules.  This may sound stupid, but you didn't see too many people on drugs "back in the day" when our great grandparents were alive.  It comes down to the parents spoiling their kids.  Then they go into the real world and don't want any responsibility.

  4. Having been born into a democracy, I can easily say I take it for granted.  It's completely alien to me to comprehend any other existence.  I'm sure a lot of Americans, especially in the same Me generation, feel the same way.

There are zealots who will always try to better their lives and get more benefits "because it's their right" and there's really nothing wrong with that, as long as we keep the big picture, with others' deprivations, in mind.  We need to not take it for granted and be as charitable as possible.
