Obtaining a Portuguese passport/citizenship...?

Hello! I would like to know if it is possible for me to obtain a Portuguese passport/citizenship. I was born in Bermuda (I have British passport/citizenship, since it's a British colony). However, my great-grandparents were both born in Sao Miguel, Azores (Portugal), their children (including my grandfather) was born here in Bermuda as was my mother and now myself. I know it seems like a long shot trying to get it through my great-grandparents but I read an article stating that many Indians from the southern Indian state of Goa (former Portuguese colony) are getting Portuguese (EU) passports and then leaving Portugal for other EU countries. Seems ridiculous if they can get it just for being a former colonist and I may not be able to and I am by blood decent. Can anyone with experience offer any advice?? Thanx!

  1. I have heard that if you open a bank account in Brazil, and then return within two years you are eligible for a Brazilian Passport. After holding a Brazilian citizenship for two years you will be eligible for a Portuguese citizenship.
