Obtaining a Provisional Driver's License in Texas..?

Question

I'm currently 16 years old, and turning 17 in November. If I were to complete driver's ed, driving school, pass the tests and whatnot, can I go ahead and get a provisional driver's license? (Without waiting the 6 months since I am already 16 & 3/4 years old?)
