Occidental grande in cozumel july 6-11. what to do?

want to snorkel, parasail,dolphin swim, a tour maybe,party, and relax. best places and companies to do it with? also rented a car to get to them places. 27&25 yr old.

We stayed next door I believe at the Iberostar last November. Beautiful island but both hotels right at the end of the island - opposite end to the town.

Travel by taxi is best done shared with other hotel guests as it keeps the cost down - if I remember rightly the cost for 2 into town was about $20 but for 4 it was only $26 so you save about $7 each time.

Hiring a car we did through the rep at the hotel - they give good advice and we didn't have issues with insurance.

We had a good dive company working from our hotel - Dressel Divers. If your hotel hasn't got it's own then I would highly recommend them. They offer all sorts of activities including a snorkelling trip to the cenotes (the mexican fresh/salt water caverns) which are out of this world. They're on the mainland but they organise transport and food etc during the day - well worth it.

You need to try the reggae bar at the far end of the island but also there is a great little place on the Atlantic side - there is a well known bar in Playa Del Carmen called Senor Frogs, this place is called Senor Lizard or something like it. Just sitting there with a nice cold drink watching the Atlantic pound the beach was really relaxing for me.

Swimming with the dolphins can be done on a day trip to Xcaret. A fantastic park which gives you a bit of history mixed with animals, BIG turtles (and lots of them), baby turtles and also the dolphins. Check out this link

rent a car with Hertz, that's what always works for me.

Rent the car in advance on their website with the insurance, people there will try to sale you more insurance, make sure you pay for what you get on the website.

companies for snorkeling, parasailing, and all that get them at the hotel, that will be the best way to go...

there will be a lot of people trying to sale stuff in the street, don't even think about it... there's even people from the states, so they can catch your attention easier, instead of all those mexicans speaking english with a bad accent. don't buy anything either.

hotel only, that's the safest way to go.
