  1. occupational therapy is more difficult--more biology/technical--you ned some more science background

you would have to check with each specific college to find the requirements

Ots seem to be mre in demand than teachers

if you already have a BA in special education--than diversifying with teh OT degree might be better

  2. You would probably make more in occupational therapy- I have heard of people starting out at $50k a year, special ed might be $10 or more less to start out. It would take longer to get your occupational therapy degree, however, but there is a great demand for this field. You would need many science classes for occupational therapy, and then more specialized and internship time. Not as many colleges offer this degree, as in special ed, many more do. In special ed, it does take a while to finish your degree, also. I was a special ed teacher, and you need a basic credential, after your regular BA or BS degree, and then your special ed. credential. You can often work as a teacher until you can finish the special education credential, so that helps. Both take a fair amount of education. You get the summers off with special ed, but you may have a little harder time finding a job. Being a special ed teacher takes a lot of patience, but I suppose that's true of occupational therapy, also.
