Ocean and sharks?

Question

I have heard of nets being set up hundreds of meters from ocean shore to protect swimmers from dangerous species such as sharks...is this a trustworthy source?

Would any holes in the nets been repaired for sure? How about smaller sharks getting into the enclosure through the gaps between sea-bed and the net? These are the risks you have to weigh, esp if you are not a strong swimmer, capable of a fast front-crawl style. It is so much safer and cleaner to swim in a swimming pool. Regards.

Dipends where it is? Because not every where its like that. But what i know is it will protect you from shark. But it always could go wrong
