Reading an article about hockey recently I had a strange thought. Since there are a ton of players out there willing to risk their bodies to block a shot,Should these players have an addition stat added to them ? Should consistant shot bockers have Something like a GAA ? I know they already count blocked shots as a stat but I have seen so many great defensive plays and other players besides goalies save a potential goal. I was just wondering.

  1. that's an excellent idea... especially since shots on goal is often times not the entire indication of how many scoring chances there are... they had some insane number of scoring chance total tallied for the Wings during the game last night and included shots on goal as well as scoring opportunities. (I'm assuming it included shot on net as well as blocked shots and shots that went wide?)...

  2. if i was to do it i would call it B

    for balls

the higher the number the bigger balls u got, eh

  3. fans of the game such as yourself , as well as teammates notice these players . great obsevation . but lord gary does not understand any aspect of true fans , or great team players . great point . i dont think the n h l . with there more offense slanted rules would ever accept this idea . it is too orginal , and would be used by players in contract negotians .

  4. I think the Defensemen should have a (Goals allowed) stat....well that's sorta like the +/- but you get my drift.lol

  5. Actually, I think GAA should only be reserved for goalies. Maybe they can make a new stat,  like AS (assisted save) or something along those lines.
