What are some odd, questionable, or (could be considered) morally wrong traditions from around the world?

(ex: Japan + Public Bathing, China + Child Foot Binding, etc.)

  1. Circumcision has always struck me as odd. But that's more widespread.

    Cannibalism intrigues me.

    Unlike religious people, I don't believe I'm in a position to deem ANYTHING morally unsound, and if there is a god or gods, he/she/they should be left to decide that.

Try catching "Taboo", a show on the National Geographic channel.  They showcase different customs from all over the world that we might find "ugh".  Like a holistic doctor in Australia who thinks it's good to drink your own pee.  Yuck.  But there is a lot of other information on that program as well.  Google it and find a show.  If you're under 16 or so, you may need your parent's permission.

  4. I saw this once on the Discovery channel, they seemed like a jungle tribe from Peru or South America, they celebrate annual orgies where all the tribe members exchange each others partners for s*x, the celebration (swapping) goes on all night, needless to say.
