Odd Xp Vs Vista problem

I really need someone who knows the two systems well to try to figure this one out for me.

A few days ago i was trying to install a game ive never had problems installing before on XP.

When i would try on XP though, its quiting with an error right at the first screen where you push Next. This is before any instalation attempts are done.

it brings up a error screen where you can let Microsoft know of it.

I cant seem to find out what the error is since the report makes no sense.

I have Vista installed on the same computer and when i try it on there, it has no problem running the instalation program.

Is there a update to XP out there right now that games are not liking? Is there a way to change this problem?

please answer if you have any theories.

Changing the processor may have nothing to do with it. Hope you have posted the error message here.
