Odd behavior (does this disturb you also?)?

I was shopping yesterday at the mall. A little girl who looked to be about 7 told her mom that she needed to go to the restroom to p**p.

YOU WONT BELIEVE WHAT HER MOTHER SUGGESTED.

........get ready!......She told her to go in her diaper....

What in the world?!

Is it just me, or is this disturbing and lazy on the mother's part?

P.S. The girl didn't apear to be mentally ill or mentally delayed, so I don't understand why she would need to wear a diaper.

  1. It is disturbing, lazy, inappropriate, wrong, and many other things.  I don't care if the child is mentally ill or retarded, if a child (no matter the age) says that they need to use the bathroom, you take them IMMEDIATELY or as soon as is possible.  you wouldn't wait two hours to go to the bathroom for yourself, so why do it for the child?  Not to mention I think it would be much more difficult to have to clean up the child later than just have her go to the bathroom right then.  Horrific.

  2. Perhaps it's a joke that they tell amongst themselves in their family.

  3. She may have problems that no one but her family is aware of.  I do think it is wierd that her family has never learned to be discreet!

  4. If the girl understood enough that she had to p**p then the mother should have taken her.  I have taken my daughter four or five times to the bathroom only to hear mom i just had to f**t, and back shopping we would go again.  It probably would have bothered me too.

  5. Well, just because she didn't appear to be mentally ill or mentally delayed, doesn't mean she wasn't.  My son is autistic, and you would never know it from just looking at him.  He looks 100% "normal".   My good friends son is autistic also, looks 100% normal, and didn't potty train until he was 6 1/2.  She could have some ailment, you never know.  I wouldn't judge.

  6. Well first, not to nitpick, but a child doesn't have to "appear" to have a medical condition.  People with developmental differences and/or medical conditions don't walk around with a big red D plastered on their foreheads.  It just so happens that a friend of my son looks and acts like a typical child, but has a condition that affects the nerves that control sensation for bowel/bladder function.  He can't sense at all when he has to go, and therefore will never be able to potty train.  Unfortunately, his condition is not as rare as one would think.

Anyway, the little girl you saw could obviously sense that she had to go, and was capable of doing so.  The mother was a complete nut for telling a 7 - year - old who was clearly potty trained to use a diaper instead.  It sounds like Mom needed a good smack upside the head.

  7. Um... that is so wrong on so many levels. She obviously doesn't need the diaper if she can tell her mom she needs to go. She's probably going into THIRD grade!! Some people just should not have children.

  8. That is really strange. Although I must say that it's hard to fathom why a mother would suggest such a thing to a seemingly normal big girl maybe there is something wrong with her. If not, that mother is demented.

  9. ohmigosh! That is entirely what it wrong with the world today ... I tried to take an 8th grade test from like 1900, and I failed ... Todays world has gotten so lazy and uneducated and it's because of people like that ... how could you tell a child who is WANTING to use the potty, no. or "go in your diaper" ?? disgraceful.

  10. One doesn't need to be "mentally ill" or "mentally delayed" to have bowel or bladder issues that may necessitate the use of a diaper.  While it's odd, in my opinion, there may be circumstances none of us are aware of.

  11. Wow that is really disturbing.. I think that is the mom being too lazy to care about the daughter having to potty. And I diaper at 7?? I understand sometimes the accidents but telling her to just go in the diaper is awful..

  12. you never know these days ...maybe she has a BM problem or she may have been sick...nobody really knows...but thats does seem odd for a 7 yr old.

  13. Can we say "lazy parent"?!? I'm a quiet person, but I think I would have had to say something to that mom. What is she doing do her child??? That's sick.

  14. That is weird and disturbing!
