Odd/even days back in the early 70s,,, how many of you remember it?

  1. I sure do remember that.  Also in our town we could not totally "fill up", we were rationed at how much we could fill up.

I remember them.  At that time, the state was switching over plate numbers from 3 letters then 3 numbers to 3 numbers then 3 letters.  I had one of the new license plates that ended with a letter, so I was considered an odd and had to wait for my day to come up to buy gas.  I would get up before the sun to sit on line in a car with a non-working heater in the dead of winter just to get $5.00 worth of gas (which was a lot of gas back then) which was the limit you could buy.  There was also a law that said you couldn't buy gas unless your tank was less than half full.

  3. Heck ya...and do you remember who was President?  What caused that crazy era?  How about Nixon/Ford, OPEC, and a "united" Middle East.

    Those days are not far away again, I am afraid.

  4. I remember it from the back of the family station wagon.
