Odd feeling in my chest area. what could it be?

For quite sometime now (4-6 months) I have had somewhat of an odd feeling in my upper chest right above my heart area and the feeling extends to my upper left arm a bit. I am a healthy 25 year old male I should add. Every now and then I will get a tightness type of feeling in my chest and often I can make that feeling go away by stretching back and letting my chest "pop". The reason I use the term "odd" to explain the feeling is because it's not a painful feeling at all. It's almost like a strained or pulled muscle type of feeling in a way, but I rarely do any heavy lifting or anything like that. What could this possibly be?

  1. It might be a gastric problem. since i am not a doctor so i don't want to give u a wrong suggestion. Try to consult a good doctor and drink lots of water and never keep ur stomach empty for long time.

  2. I'm not a dr ok ( get things straight from the get go ! ). Do you get a strange acid taste in your mouth ( like the taste left over after you have vomited ) if you do it might be that you have gastric reflux, too much acid in the stomach, which can be remedied by drinking milk or taking ant-acid preparations.

You should go to see your Gp, he/she could take routine bloods & send you for routine tests as a safe guard if only to put your mind at rest. The tests don't hurt, it's usually breathing tests & ECG (Echo for short ) you'll have sensors stuck to your chest which are connected to the machine, you may have to do a little strenuous excessive activity or maybe you'll just have to lay quietly.

    Good Luck.X :-)
