  1. i think thats the one from bagiuo. its sweet, inside a shell of "lubi-lubi". like the "kalamay" in bohol, only that its the tiny version. looks lika kulangot, coz u need to sundot it first with your little finger then, eat. its sweet just like a kalamay.

  2. These are really small and bite sized kalamay, a native delicacy that’s made of sweetened sticky rice with coconut milk. These are sold for around P25 per bundle.

    Sofia's Kalamay

2 cups glutinous rice (sweet rice)

1 - 14 oz. can unsweetened coconut milk

    1 ¼ cup brown sugar

½ cup sweetened condensed milk (about ½ can)

Wash rice in cool water. Drain briefly in a strainer.

Reserve 3/4 cup coconut milk in a bowl for topping.

Combine remaining coconut milk with water to make 3 2/3 cups. Combine with rice in a medium saucepan.

Over medium heat, cook rice for 10 minutes or until rice is almost cooked, stirring constantly. Add brown sugar.

Pour mixture into a greased 8” square baking pan and smooth top.

Combine reserved coconut milk and sweetened condensed milk. Pour over rice mixture.

Bake at 300 degrees F for 45 minutes until topping is bubbly and brown.

    Cool and cut into squares.

    Makes 12 rich servings

  3. I think this is similar to matamis na bao or latik, which is coconut jam.  It's very sweet.  It could be from any of those provinces that grow a lot of coconuts, like Laguna, Quezon, etc.

  4. i watched it being featured in jessica soho's show.  from what i watched, preparing it is a meticulous task...

please see below for the details:

Sundot Kulangot came from the Summer Capital of the Philippines, the City of Pines, Baguio. Name can be deceiving because underneath the not-so-good label with a bad connotation in mind, Sundot Kulangot is a must-try delicacy.

It is made of water, glutinous rice flour, and lemon molasses.

To cook Sundot Kulangot, boil 1 gallon of water in a small vat. Add rice and cook until soft consistency is attained. Pour molasses little by little and stir until sticky. Fill cleaned, split pitugo shells with the mixture and seal with crepe paper and glue.
