Odds of Germany winning World Cup with Mesut Ozil and Miroslav Klose

Germany has proven during the World Cup qualifiers that it still a great team, confident in its strengths and ambitions, even if the team is not as popular as Spain or Brazil. The ''Mannschaft'' finished on top of its group ahead of strong Russian led by Guss Hidding. The German national team has shown poise and experience throughout the qualifiers, especially during the big games. Losers in the Euro 2008 final, Joachim Low's men have proven yet again that they are a force to be reckoned with in South Africa.

Germany will need all the experience that it can get when it will face Ghana, Serbia and Australia. Group D is not an easy group and Germany will depend on its skeleton that composed the team for a few years with Ballack, Klose, Schweinsteiger, Gomez and also Lahm. A young prodigy is to be watched that has been selected by Joachim Low: Mesut Ozil. Ozil plays his club football for Werder Bremen and is truly a beauty to watch play. His technical potential is great and he might impose himself as the Mannschaft's play maker in this World Cup and for years to come. Germany has yet again all the chances on its side for a great World Cup and can go all the way. This team is always present in big competitions, even though they are not expected all the time.

Group matchups

Germany is in group D with Ghana, Serbia and Australia. The odds for Germany to make it to the second round are 1.25. The odd reflects Germany's powerhouse status and there are no surprises there. Germany not making it to the next round is 4.75. A good payout if you are a believer in Ghana and Serbia and hope that Australia will surprise the Germans.

The Germans first game is against Australia on June 13th. Germany is favorite to win the game with odds set at 1.45. A tie gives 4.20. Being a tournament favorite, Germany winning the tournament pays 7. The German offensive potential is unquestioned and have a strong midfield able to stop the opponents and in the same time play offensively. Their game system is based on both the right backs and left backs pinching in to support the attack. Defending a lead is not a problem for the Germans but recent injuries to their defense has put some doubts on their central defense duo.

Their next game is against Serbia. Serbia present a stronger opposition than Australia but the odds are still in favor of Germany. A Germany win gives 1.75 and a tie 3.50. It will be harder against Serbia, a very technical that likes to attack. Germany's defensive sector (defenders and midfielders) will be put to the test.

On June 23rd, their last group game is against Ghana, the 2010 African Cup of Nations finalist. A Germany win pays 1.70 and a tie 3.50. Ghana is young and upcoming team but have injuries at key positions. Mikael Essien will be at the World Cup but has been recovering from an injury for a few months. His playing status is still in doubt. I doubt that Ghana will be able to contain the Germans. Knowing the Germans, they will want to finish1st of the group with 9 points. If they finish second, they might meet England in the round of 16, a game that Germany can easily lose.

Other bets

Miroslav Klose's odds to be the Germany's top goalscorer are at 4.50. The German attack is around Miroslav Klose as he plays the forward position. He will be fed by Lucas Podolski and probably Stuttgart's Cacau. German midfielders are also excellent goal scorers look for Ozil (16.00) and Schweinsteiger (16.00) to score some goals for Germany.
