Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD Ps3 – Video Game Update
Sony has announced that a new patch for the game, Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath, will be up on Play Station Network (PSN) by June 27, 2012.
Stranger’s Wrath was developed by Oddworld Inhabitants and published by Electronic Arts on the original Xbox and PC in 2005. A Playstation 2 version was planned but cancelled later on. The game was then later ported over to the Playstation 3 by the developers
‘Just Add Water’ on December 21, 2011 for Europe and Australia and December 27, 2011 for the North American market.
Some of the changes that the patch will bring include:
Support for 3D Televisions
There are not many 3D-Enable games available for the PS3 but now with this update you finally have a reason to put that 3D-TV to good use and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the game in 3D.
PlayStation Move enabled
This will take immersion to a new level as you shoot down enemies with the in-game crossbow with the accuracy of the Playstation Move controllers.
Video Capture and YouTube Support
You can now record what you do and how you play the game directly to the Playstation 3 or just directly upload it to YouTube to share with all your friends.
Display Customisation
New display options to adjust the colours, contrast and brightness to best suit your TV so that you get the best experience of the crisp HD makeover.
Audio fixes
This new patch will also fix all the audio problems which were present in the game at launch. No more Non Playable Characters (NPCs) dialogue being cut off mid-sentence and fix for the soundtrack bug.
New Crosshair
The new crosshair improves visibility and makes aiming much more easier on the eyes.
Fix for the Game saves issue
Changes have been made to how you can save/load the game. The option to quick save and quick load your last checkpoint has also been added.
Additional subtitles
Extra subtitles have been added to the game for parts that were without them.
The patch also brings general performance related improvements to the game overall but whether such a late fix will bring back fans and get them to play the game again after such a long time remains to be seen.
