Oddysey to intimidate the line-up of the Emilie Will You Marry Nidge? Handicap
Seven capable entries have lined up for the Class 5 Emilie Will You Marry Nidge? Handicap. The winner will get awarded with the £2,264 prize money on Tuesday, 25th September, 2012 at Beverley race course over a mile and100 yards. All the candidates have come from different and diverse racing backgrounds. Some have been lucky as their unsuccessful postings are mixed with victories too, because a few have been deprived of the latter since quite a while.
One of the most commendable entries for the race is the11 to 2 shot, Oddysey.
The three-year-old bay filly has been active six times during the current season. Only the seasonal debut ended with a dreadful eight position, while the rest of the outings never went below the third position, and that too surfaced just once.
Her first success came in right through the second start of the new season. She won the Bet At Betvictor.com Apprentice Handicap on 9th July, 2012 at Ayr over seven furlongs.
She gained prominence on the track only when the final two furlongs were to be raced, she led for a furlong, but was pulled back due to the speed of the reeling in rival, Lord Franklin.
Her determination got her to the other end of the wire by the impressive margin of 2 ¼ lengths.
Taking up the third position behind the winner was, Mick Slates.
Two second scores gave her the John Greaves & Derek Wilson Supports TRC Fillies’ Handicap on 9th August, 2012 at Haydock over a mile.
By four furlongs out, the Michael Dods trained was racing in the second position in the field of eight contestants. He took charge of the track for two furlongs out, got ridden over in the approaching one, and maintained a composed stance in the final furlong winning by the margin of three lengths.
She defeated Social Rhythm in partnership with jockey, Lee Topliss.
Acclamation’s daughter out of, Darling Smile, will get paired up with the same jockey, and the two have drawn the sixth trap to break from. She will need to look out for Alkadi who has been trying to set a bench mark since the past few races.
